High Performance Alpine Ski Race Program
(Competitive - Tryout required)
High Performance skiers have advanced abilities and are invited to join with extra on-snow training and camps. They are encouraged to attend scheduled races and would be considered competitive athletes.
- 20 Week Program Nov-April (Program runs full Nitehawk operational season; varies due to weather)
- 122 hours of Level 1 or higher Alpine Canada Certified Coach Training (Accounts for 2 weeks of typical weather cancellations and Christmas break)
- Nitehawk Training Days: Wed & Thurs 6:00-8:30pm, (2) Weekend Days per month 10:00am-2:00pm
- Optional $$ Training Camps: Sunshine, Powder King, Marmot
- Optional Races: Regional Alpine Races, Ski Cross Races, Alberta Winter Games, Arctic Winter Games
All ski passes/lift tickets are additional to club package fees and are purchased directly with the ski hill.

All Athletes and Parents– Optional Training/Costs
- Monthly Jasper/Marmot Training Camp optional at $60/athlete to cover additional coaching and travel costs.
- Christmas Holiday Training Camp (Optional for recreational program)
- Participation in any Alpine and Ski Cross races are at additional coaching fee of $60/athlete & race fees paid to the race host
- Free Parent Masters Training Night (5 per season)
- Alberta Alpine Official and Coach Training
Volunteer BOND
The ski club relies on the involvement and fundraising of our families to keep our programs running and our fees as low as possible. A refundable volunteer bond is applied at registration. The bond will be reimbursed at the end of the season, in April or earlier.
- Recreational: $300 volunteer bond
- High Performance: $600 volunteer bond
The volunteer bond is fully refundable when all (3) listed commitments have been completed:
1) All club fees have been paid in full
2) Each family to provide at least one volunteer shift for each race event hosted or attended by the athlete.
There are volunteer opportunities for both skiers and non-skiers, and no previous experience is necessary. If you don’t know how to do something, we can teach you! Some examples of race volunteer positions include:
- Registration and Race Administration
- Race and Course Officials and Support Crew
- Timing
- Hospitality
- Event Setup, including installation of netting

3) Complete one of the below options for each $300 of volunteer bond (2 for $600 Bond):
- 10 hours of Mid-April DreamHome shifts (~286 hours available)
- Full-time Coach (Level 1 Coach certification required; coaches will be assigned a team at the start of the season)
- Secure a $500 Corporate Sponsorship
- Current NAST Board Member or Committee Leader
- Multi-Day Volunteer Shifts at other North Zone Races i.e. Member of Race Organizing Committee (More details to follow)
- Payout $300
Club Raffles
There will be a cash raffle and a ski prize/gift card raffle. Raffle tickets in the amount of $300 per athlete will be charged as part of monthly payments and tickets will be given out on registration day. Any collected money is kept by the family.
